 Plot Synopsis: This three-part tale, the d?but directorial effort of Alejandro Gonz?lez I??rritu, gives you a pretty good idea of what life is like in Mexico City and leaves you with an enduring wish never to drive its streets at rush hour. The first section chronicles the near-incestuous affair between Octavio and his sister-in-law Susana. The second, which sags with weary symbolism, is about a model who loses a leg. The third and strongest tells of an ex-terrorist and tramp who kills for money and dreams of love. The connective tissue between these folks is a car crash, and each of them also either owns or trains dogs. I??rritu's style carries the day; it may be heated and hectic, but he doesn't bully you into judging these frazzled figures, and, in Echevarr?a, he has found a figure of great and grimy nobility. Ed Wood Special Edition
 Description: This is Tim Burton's best movie. And possibly Johnny Depp's too. It certainly was Martin Landau's finest moment. It's a small canvas but all the stars really shone here, except for Sarah Jessica Parker, who was always a mediocre actress to me. Bill Murray was at the peak of his sardonic best, pre-Lost In Translation. Johnny Depp gave a performance that was at once funny and sad. It's a multi-dimensional movie that one suspects started off only as a comedic biography but ended up as one of the best movies of the 90s. A highly entertaining mix of movie-making maverick and top-notch acting. Even in black and white, the movie resonated with a richness in texture and realism. A throwback to the B&W flicks of an era long gone. A superb homage. A fascinating character study. Unmissable. Code:

The plot moves along nicely and has little to no padding in it and the dialog and special effects are hilarious even if that was not the intent of the director, Ed Wood. Everyone who loves cinema should see this movie! The wobbly flying saucers on single strings, Swedish wrestler turned actor Tor Johnson, Bela Lugosi in his last role, Vampira and more make this an unforgettable film. It's so bad it's great. Sadly, the great Bela Lugosi died during filming, so look for Bela Lugosi's replacement in some scenes. He's not hard to spot as he is taller and looks nothing like Mr. Lugosi, hence he holds a cape in front of his face in every scene in which he appears! Code:
